Early Spring Indoor Outdoor Winery Wedding

If I could describe these sweethearts. It would be their spunk and passion is what makes them a wonderful pair! Their 7-year romance began on Myspace and their relationship blossomed through this old school social media platform. High school sweethearts yet from different high schools. Cassandra and Mark’s favorite past time together is going to the beach. Any chance they could get they would make a trip there. Naturally, Mark’s proposal was set at South Padre Island, TX. She said yes! Wedding planning to commence! The couple dreamed of an ocean blue inspired wedding. 

The Couples Goals and Dreams before Marriage

Mark aspired to be a Marine Biologist, and this took him to University of Oregon. Cassandra studied for a doctorate at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. The couple managed a 4-year long distance relationship after each headed off to separate universities. Relationship goals! After graduation, Mark was ready to move back to Texas and propose to Cassandra. 

Creating an Ocean Blue Wedding Theme at Emery’s Buffalo Creek  Cassie and Mark were inspired by the ocean. Originally, they wanted a wedding on the beach. Cassandra and Mark decided they wanted to do what was best for their guest. More comfort and less travel. The couple’s families on both sides were scattered about Texas, Bellville, Tx is centrally located.  Cassandra and Mark made a decision to have an ocean blue inspired wedding at a venue closer to the central Texas area.

Many items were checked off their ‘must have’ list after they found Emery’s Buffalo Creek wedding venue. They loved the waterfront Gazebo for their ceremony. The couple have a fondness for wine. EBC is an open-air venue. The venue must be elegant yet feel natural. The Wedding Venue location is central to all their family. Their check list just got checked off. 

The color palette for this wedding is ocean blue, white, and sand colors to mimic the beach. Perfect for an Ocean Blue inspired wedding. The key to their style was seashell finds. Something in line with Mark’s love of marine biology.  One thing that was important to Mark and Cassandra for their wedding to be easy going. They wanted to be sure their wedding day was all about celebrating their love with their friends and family. 

The couples ombre wedding cake featured waves in ocean blue colors. Their beach wedding cake table featured many of her collections over the years.

Selecting the Wine at Houston’s Wedding Winery Venue

I did mention they love wine. Pinot Noir lovers.  For All-inclusive packages, we conduct wine tastings. They tried our special on-premise only wine and loved it. We encouraged them to taste wines for their guest as well. Not all guest are knowledgeable in wine. Our recommendation is always have a sweet white wine and a dry wine available. They chose our special Moscato for a sweet wine which is a favorite for wedding guest, then they chose our on-premise only Pinot Grigio for the dry wine. A well rounded menu of red and white wine along with beer for their guest is always a winner here at Houston’s only Wedding Winery Venue in Bellville, TX. 

Wedding Planning at Emery’s Buffalo Creek

The wedding planning was primarily through email. Cassandra and Mark lived in San Antonio, TX and both had brand new jobs. As part of the All-inclusive package – the wedding planning is in our hands. The couple traveled for 2 in-person meetings to finalize details. Mark and Cassandra attended one of our Bridal Shows and met all their wedding vendors that they really enjoyed. Find out more about our annual Bridal show here. 

If Heaven weren’t so far away…

Onward spirit for everyone. The couple had an unexpected event happen two months before their wedding day.  Mark’s father unexpectedly passed away. It was getting hard to think about the final wedding details to wrap up for their wedding at Emery’s Buffalo Creek. The couple kept going knowing this is what his father would want. 

Mark wanted his dad there in spirit. They family wanted to honor him, and he had his dad’s favorite hat and shirt placed in a chair for the ceremony.  The reception did not go by without a beautiful toast to Mark’s father. There were many emotional highs as well as some expected lows during their reception. His dad was an incredible character!

Cassandra said “I felt like I never wanted the night to end. Everyone was having so much fun and the weather was perfect!” Mark and Cassandra said “their wedding night was magical and perfect. We really enjoyed the sparkler exit and we 100,000x recommend for everyone to get a professional videographer and photographer for your wedding. It is worth every penny!”
